Help & FAQ

Common questions about how CasePilot works, how your data is handled, and what the system can and cannot do.

What is CasePilot?

CasePilot is an evidence-grounded legal preparation tool for self-represented litigants and family law attorneys. It reads every document you upload — PDFs, emails, financial records, court filings — finds contradictions across them, and writes citation-backed declaration drafts. Every claim in a draft traces to a verbatim quote with page number and source document.

How are my documents stored?

Your documents are uploaded directly to encrypted cloud storage (Cloudflare R2, AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit). They are associated only with your account and are not accessible to other users, staff, or third parties except as necessary to process your AI queries — which are transient and not used to train any model. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Do I need an attorney to use CasePilot?

No. CasePilot is designed for self-represented litigants — people navigating family court without legal counsel. However, every AI-generated draft is marked [DRAFT — ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED]. CasePilot helps you prepare your evidence and arguments; it does not give legal advice and strongly encourages you to have any draft reviewed by a licensed attorney before filing.

Which jurisdictions are supported?

CasePilot is currently in Oregon Beta. The evidence analysis, contradiction detection, and Q&A features work with any jurisdiction. The jurisdiction-specific support calculation engine is currently built for Oregon (ORS Chapter 25, Oregon Child Support Guidelines). California and Washington support schedules are on the roadmap for Phase 2.

Can I use CasePilot on mobile?

Yes. The web application is fully responsive and works on iOS and Android browsers. The upload experience supports mobile file pickers and camera capture. For the best experience reviewing long documents and drafts, a tablet or desktop is recommended.

How do I delete my data?

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing privacy@casepilot.app. Deletion is permanent and includes all uploaded documents, extracted text, Q&A history, draft history, and account information. We confirm deletion within 30 days. There is no grace period — deletion is immediate and irreversible.
